WHY?
That's what makes the Laufgelage so special.
Registration
You’ll register as a team of two and be assigned a course at random – appetizer, main course, or dessert. You’ll cook this course together for your guests.
When you register, let us know your dietary preferences, whether you drink alcohol, and a few details about where you live. This helps our algorithm match teams and keep the distances between stations as short as possible.
Want to get more information directly from us? Stop by our info booths at the Langemarck cafeteria or the TechFak—and with a little luck, you might even score some goodies!
Cooking, Dining & New Friends
As guests, you’ll enjoy the other two courses at the homes of two other teams – either before or after your own cooking session. You’ll get to meet four new people at each stop. And four guests will also come over to your home. Our algorithm decides who visits whom.
Don’t worry: You won’t meet the same team twice. That way, you’ll get to know a total of 12 new people in one evening. And if cooking is your secret passion, you can show off your skills in the competition for the Golden Wooden Spoon – of course, there’s a prize to be won!
And after that?
After the running party, we’re all heading to the eWerk! To get in, pick up your admission wristbands at our wristband booths a few days in advance or on the evening of the event.
With three dance floors, there’s something for every taste from party mixes to house, techno, Schranz, and more.
You’ve already paid for admission with your registration, but entry is still subject to availability. And for the perfect keepsake, you can snap some new photos together at our photo booth to capture this unforgettable evening.

FAQ
Do you have questions? We have the answers right here!
How does the Laufgelage work?
You sign up as a team of two and are randomly assigned a course: appetizer, main course, or dessert. You’ll cook this course in your own kitchen for two other teams. You’ll enjoy the other two courses yourselves as guests at two different teams’ homes.
So if you aren’t assigned the appetizer, your evening will start as guests at another team’s place before you host later on.
This way, you’ll get to meet up to twelve new people in just one evening. And afterward, everyone heads to the afterparty at the E-Werk!
What are the requirements for participation?
Anyone can participate as long as they compete as a team of two, are of legal age, and have access to a kitchen within our service area.
It is important that both team members are at least 18 years old.
What requirements should our apartment/WG/residential home meet?
You’ll need a functional kitchen where you can cook for yourselves and your four guests. Your apartment must also be located within the specified catchment area.
For your course, you should have enough space for yourselves and your four guests, as well as plenty of seating. Of course, feel free to get a little creative – that’s exactly what makes the Laufgelage so charming!
I'm alone! Can I still participate?
Unfortunately, participation is only possible as a team of two.
But don’t worry: You can use our partner matching service to find a suitable teammate.
To do so, click the button below.
Our kitchen is outside the catchment area! Can we still participate?
Unfortunately, no. The service area is necessary to ensure that the distances between courses remain as short as possible for all participants.
If your kitchen is outside the specified area, participation is unfortunately not possible.
Where do we specify which kitchen we’ll be cooking in?
You’ll specify this directly when you register. There, you’ll enter the address where you’d like to prepare your course.
This address will later be shared with your guests so they can find their way to you. Our algorithm will determine which course you’ll be cooking there – appetizer, main course, or dessert – during the assignment process.
When will we find out which course we’re cooking?
You’ll find out which course you’re cooking after the registration period ends, along with your personal assignment. Assignments are typically made one to two days after the registration deadline.
Will other people be at our place once our course is over?
No. After each course, all teams move on to the next station.
If you were the host, you’ll then head over to your next team and enjoy the next course there.
Can we participate even if we live in a dorm or shared apartment?
Yes, of course! The only requirements are that you’re allowed to use a kitchen there and that there’s enough space for your guests.
When registering, please make sure to provide your full and correct address, especially any dorm, building, or apartment codes, if these are needed to locate your kitchen.
We’d like to share a kitchen with a team from our dorm or shared apartment. Is that possible?
Yes, of course! If two teams want to cook together in the same apartment or kitchen, you can easily indicate this when registering.
To do so, check the “Double Allocation” box and then enter a shared double-allocation code. Teams that have entered the same code will be paired together by our algorithm and will thus receive a double booking.
We have more than three teams from our dorm or shared apartment that want to participate. Is that possible?
Yes, it is! Even if multiple teams from the same shared apartment or dorm want to participate, you can use duplicate entries and link the teams accordingly.
Please note, however, that our system has its limits. We’ll do our best to take your information and preferences into account when assigning teams, but – especially when there are multiple teams from the same apartment or dorm – we can’t guarantee that every desired combination will be possible. This may also lead to limitations in optimizing the route planning.
We're in! But how much does it cost to participate, and who pays?
Participation costs €18.00 per team, or €9.00 per person.
You pay the participation fee directly when you register, either via PayPal, direct debit, or credit card. The payment will be charged to one person on your team for the entire team.
Why is “Verband deutscher Wirtschaftsingenieure Hochschulgruppe Erlangen-Nürnberg e.V.” debiting my account?
That’s the organization behind the Laufgelage. Unfortunately, we can’t change our account name on PayPal. If you’d like to learn more about us, click the link below.
